Celebrating the best of Australian regional exporters
28 November 2018
Businesses from across the country came together last night in Canberra for the 56th Australian Export Awards, with Barossa Valley winemaker Torbreck Vintners taking out this year's Regional Exporter Award.
Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, Senator Richard Colbeck, said the award celebrates exporters outside our metro areas that are succeeding internationally.
"Our regional exporters play a vital role in supporting the prosperity of local communities, driving jobs and economic growth through their business ventures," Minister Colbeck said.
"Congratulations to Torbreck Vintners for taking out the 2018 Regional Exporter Award.
"I would like to congratulate all the finalists for their hard work and dedication in raising the profile of Australian products in the international marketplace, particularly a number from the agriculture sector.
"It takes a lot of work to build international trade links and each of this year's finalists has demonstrated extraordinary talent to succeed in a highly competitive global market.
"It is great to see regional Australian businesses using innovative approaches to help contribute to our global reputation as a provider of world-class products."
The 2018 Regional Exporter Award finalists included:
- Blue Hills Honey – Tas
