Letter to the SA Minister on the SA Royal Commission
10 July 2018
Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources David Littleproud has written to the South Australian Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs about some of the matters which have been raised by the South Australian Royal Commission into the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
The letter includes an attachment supporting the Commonwealth's position that the Murray-Darling Basin Plan was developed in accordance with the Water Act 2007.
The Commonwealth's proceedings in the High Court are about the ability of a state Royal Commission to compel the Commonwealth to provide documents or give evidence. They are not about water, the Water Act, nor the Murray Darling Basin Plan.
Both the letter and attachment are available at http://www.agriculture.gov.au/SiteCollectionDocuments/about/media-centre/on-the-record/littleproud-letter-speirs02072018.pdf
